Applied Sorting Technologies provide an X-ray inspection service for clients who have product suspected of containing contaminants, or packaged products which are suspected of having missing or damaged ingredients.

Clients can either send their products to Applied Sorting in Bulleen, Victoria for inspection or an XR-3000 Series X-ray Inspection System can be transported to site locally or interstate. Applied Sorting's X-ray Inspection Systems require only 240 volt/10amp single phase power.

X-ray inspection can detect a wide range of possible contaminants including:

  • Pieces of metal, much smaller than conventional metal detectors
  • Glass fragments
  • Stones
  • Bone fragments
  • Several kinds of dense plastic and rubber

X-rays can see through packaging to detect contaminants or defects inside bags, cartons, foil packs, glass jars, metal cans etc.
